Comforting Words from the King

5.10.20 - No Worries! (Matthew 6:25-34)

What we learn in Matthew 6:25-34 is that those who know Christ and His righteousness, and live under His saving rule, have no need to worry. Why is this? It’s because in Christ our greatest need—the need for rescue from sin—has been met. Instead of being preoccupied with our material needs, needs that our Father is aware of and able to meet, we must instead seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. If we make material wealth and material needs our idol, then we will certainly face disappointment in the future, since these things cannot and will not last, nor can they satisfy. Only life with Jesus as King will satisfy for eternity. Let’s keep our eyes on the King, trust Him for our present needs, and look forward to the glorious future He has secured for His people.
